Dr. Sheng-Hsiang Lin is a professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), an affiliated professor at the Department of Public Health, NCKU, and a consulting research fellow at the Biostatistics Consulting Center of NCKU hospital. He previously served as the director of the Institutional Research Division, Office of Research and Development, and the Data Analysis Division at the Office of Strategic Planning, NCKU. Professor Lin’s highest academic degree is a Ph.D. from the Institute of Epidemiology, National Taiwan University. His research focuses on applying statistical modeling approaches to study predictive factors for psychiatric and complex disorders, familial aggregation of endophenotypic markers, and gene-environment interactions. The research content includes: (A) Genetic studies on the predictive and prognostic markers of psychiatric and other complex disorders; (B) Development of experimental design and statistical methods for genetic research on psychiatric disorders; (C) Risk prediction models based on machine learning algorithms for psychiatric disorders and related neuropsychological traits; and (D) Clinical epidemiological research and statistical modeling approach for complex disorders using big data.
